Announcing Everyone Loves Mahoney

Rick and I have been doing our acoustic thing on a monthly basis for the last six months or so, and we really felt like we should stop introducing ourselves as "Rick and John". So a name seemed to make sense. Friends sit in from time to time, and it's just easier to say, "Hey, we're Everyone Loves Mahoney".

So in the future, all shows with Rick and I as the primary performers will be billed as "Everyone Loves Mahoney".

Check out the website at www.everyonelovesmahoney.com

If you're not catching the name reference, please revisit some true classic '80s comedy. As in Carey Mahoney, from Police Academy. We wanted something fun, so why not give Steve Guttenburg a nod. At least we didn't call the band "Johnny 5".

We'll probably be expanding from our acoustic roots this summer, but for right now we'll be doing the same thing we always do. Namely, bringing way too many guitars to cover a 2 hour set and playing anything we feel like.

Remix Contest Results

The winner for Pangea Island's Herbie Hancock remix contest was announced this week. No real surprise, I didn't win. Granted I did my own thing, which wasn't the sterile dance remix thing that everyone else was doing. So my entry was outside of the norm, but I think it was pretty cool. You can check out my ukulele led version of "Chameleon" in the music section.
